Shabqadar Charsadda

Shabqadar is a town in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province’s Charsadda District that can be pronounced both in Pashto and Urdu. It is located 17 miles (28 km) north of Peshawar, the provincial capital.

نام کی تاریخ

شبقدر کے نام کی تاریخ تین مختلف ناموں پر مشتمل ہے۔ یہاں پر سکھوں کی خاصی آبادی کی وجہ سے اسے پہلے “سیکھو ڈھیری” کہا جاتا تھا۔ یہ نام دو وجوہات کی بنا پر رکھا گیا تھا . سکھوں کو “سیکھو” کہا جاتا تھا اور مٹی کا بہت بڑا ٹیلہ (ڈھیر) جو کبھی یہاں کھڑا تھا اسے “ڈھیری” کہا جاتا تھا۔ یہ قصبہ پشاور سے 35 کلومیٹر شمال مغرب میں واقع ہے۔ لیکن 1876 کے بعد بالآخر اس کا نام شبقدر رکھا گیا۔

1023 سال پہلے

مغلوں کی آمد

ایک زمانے میں شبقدر کے صوبے خیبر پختونخوا میں بھی مغلوں کی حکومت رہی ہے۔ پشاور سے احمد شاہ ابدالی نے برصغیر کے مختلف علاقوں میں کئی مہمات شروع کیں۔ 1750 کی دہائی کے اوائل میں مرہٹوں کے حملے نے عارضی طور پر ابدالی کی حکمرانی (1747-1772) کو ختم کر دیا، لیکن 1761 میں وہ KP پر دوبارہ کنٹرول حاصل کرنے میں کامیاب ہو گیا۔ یہ خطہ 1818 میں سکھوں کے فتح ہونے تک افغانستان کا حصہ تھا، جس کی بنیاد احمد شاہ ابدالی نے پہلی پٹھان ریاست کے طور پر رکھی تھی۔

رنجیت سنگھ

شبقدر میں اطالوی سپاہی

برطانوی راج

برطانوی ایسٹ انڈیا کمپنی نے پنجاب میں شبقدر (صوبائی دارالحکومت پشاور) کو بھی فتح کیا جب 1849 میں سکھوں کو دوسری اینگلو سکھ جنگ میں شکست ہوئی۔

آباد کاری

جب انگریزوں نے صوبے پر کنٹرول حاصل کیا تو چارسدہ کے اردگرد کے تمام علاقوں کو افغانستان سے ملا دیا گیا۔ اور افغانستان کے لوگ سکھ راج کے خاتمے کے بعد آباد ہونے لگے۔ شبقدر بنیادی طور پر پاکستانیوں کی آبادی پر مشتمل ہے، حالانکہ یہاں افغانی آبادی بھی کافی زیادہ ہے۔ پشتو ایک وسیع پیمانے پر بولی جانے والی زبان ہے۔

Shabqadar Charsadda History

Shabqadar is the administrative center for the Charsadda District’s Shabqadar Tehsil.

The Shabqadar Bazar and Shabqadar Fort are the city’s most well-known landmarks. Stone and mud were used to build the fort. Tota Ram, a Sikh architect, created it in 1837. Currently, 1800 members of the force are trained there under the direction of Frontier Constabulary. During his service the former prime minister of the UK, Winston Churchill, once lodged in this fort.

Sikhs were referred to as “Sikho,” and the enormous mud mound (Dher) that once stood here was referred to as “Dheri.” It is located 35 kilometers northwest of Peshawar. But after 1876 it was finally named ShabqadarCharsadda.

1023 years back

History is silent about the actual origin of this area, now called Shabqadar Charsadda . It is much believed that Afghani People from Afghanistan were the first-ever settlers in this area after the invasion of Mahmud Ghazni. The first invasion of Mahmud Ghazni started in 1001 and continued till 1026. Soon after the attack of Ghazni, many Afghani chose this place as a settlement.

Mughals Arrivals

Mughals also have been ruling in the province of ShabqadarCharsadda. From the Peshawar Valley, Ahmad Shah Abdali launched a number of operations in various regions of the subcontinent. The Marathas’ invasion in the early 1750s temporarily ended Abdali’s reign (1747–1772). But in 1761 he was able to recover control of KP. Until the Sikhs conquered it in 1818, the region was still a part of Afghanistan. Ahmad Shah Abdali had founded as the first Pathan state.

190 years before

The history of ShabqadarCharsadda itself is almost 190 Years older. this history is connected to Sikh rule and this city got a boom in the era of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh. The first Maharaja of the Sikh Empire, which governed the northwest Indian subcontinent in the first half of the 19th century, was Ranjit Singh, also known as Sher-e-Punjab or the “Lion of Punjab” or Sher-e-Punjab.

Ranjit Singh

Maharaja Ranjit Singh led the Sikhs who invaded Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 1818. They began by annexing Dera Ismail Khan and eventually took control of the entire province. The Bala Hissar Fortress was set on fire in 1923 when the Sikhs took control of Peshawar. Many buildings, notably the Mahabat Khan Mosque, were demolished by them. Sikh armies frequently attacked tribes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The Sikhs, who were originally from India, established themselves as successful merchants and traders in this region during the 19th century. They played a significant role in the local economy and their businesses included cloth trade, money lending, and other small-scale industries.

Protection Fort 1835

Here, a fort known as “Shankargarh” was constructed in 1835 on Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s instruction to secure the Western areas of the Indian Subcontinent. Tota Ram, a man, was responsible for the design of the Shankargarh Fort. From the forts of Shankargarh (Shabqadar) and Jamrud, the Sikhs defended the area against Dost Mohammad of Afghanistan’s assault on Peshawar in 1837.

Italian Soldier At ShabqadarCharsadda

Italian soldier Jean-Baptiste Ventura, whose real name was Rubino. He served as a commander in Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s Sarkar-i-Khalsa at the place of Shabqadar Fort. Ventura was also a pioneering archaeologist in the Punjab region of the Sikh Empire. He commanded the Sikh army from Lahore to Peshawar to expand sith reign.

Ventura worked in the Sikh court for several years . He participated in important battles and campaigns, including the First Anglo-Sikh War. He played a crucial role in the defense of the Sikh Empire against the British East India Company, which sought to expand its influence in the region. Despite his military success, Ventura eventually fell out of favor with the Maharaja and left the court to pursue other ventures.

Paolo Avitabile in Shabqadar Charsadda ( Posting Peshawar )

In 1834, the Maharaja appointed Italian Soldier Paolo Avitabile as governor of Peshawar, which he had captured from the Afghans the year before. The authorities designated Peshawar as the center of control to defend the surrounding and nearby areas, including Shabqadar and Charsadda, from foreign invaders.

Winston Churchill, a former prime minister of the United Kingdom, briefly resided at this place of ShabqadarCharsadda at the fort while serving and participating in an expedition in India’s North West Frontier. Churchill and fellow Fourth Hussars officers boarded the S.S. Britannia in Southampton on September 11, 1896.

British Rule

In 1849, the British East India Company defeated the Sikhs in the Second Anglo-Sikh War and conquered Peshawar that is 35 Km near Shabeqar. The Sepoy Rebellion of 1857, disarmed the 40,000 members of the native garrison without using force.

Afghani Entrance

When the British gained control over the province and Peshawar, they connected all the surrounding areas, such as Charsadda and Shabqadar,to Afghanistan. The people of Afghanistan started to settle after the end of Sikh Raaj.

Population

Shabqadar has primarily populatby Pakistanis, although there is also a sizable Afghan population. A small proportion of people, mostly Muslims, identify as Christians. Pashto is a wide language.

The population of Tehsil ShabqadarCharsadda in District Charsadda as of 2017 was 383,765. The tehsil comes ranked 2nd in the district. The population density was to be 2,000 per km2 (or 5,100 per square mile). Out of the total population, 91,851 were as urban residents while 291,914 were rural residents.

Management

In 1988, Shabqadar became a tehsil. The tehsil is administratively has 12 Union Councils, the headquarters of which is in the town of Shabqadar. Shabqadar tehsil is has 29 village councils (VC) and 6 neighborhood councils in accordance with current local government regulations (NC).
